Style and charm exemplify this choice one bedroom, one bath apartment in historic colonial Quito.

It is located in a majestic rose-colored building ornately embellished in the style of a bygone era.

This is the entrance to apartment complex and entry courtyard.

The apartment is housed in this section of the building.

A wide wooden hallway leading to the apartment creates an elegant impression.

A stunning inner courtyard features arches, elaborate scrollwork over the double doors and windows and ornate metal railings.

The apartment has approximately 960 square feet of living space.

What are the annual taxes? Monthly condo fees?

What is the address of the complex?

Is the unit on the first or second floor?

How many blocks to the Presidential Palace?

Do you have any more photos?

    Thank you

    • We are selling this unit as a favor to a friend. I do not have all of the information you need, but will do my best to fill in the blanks. The address is the corner of Manabi and Benalzacar.

Look at the photo of the outside of the building on the blog. The apartment is on the second floor just to the right of the front corner of the building. However, the entrance to the building is higher on the street, and the apartment is at the same level. There are no steps to get from the building entrance to the apartment.

It is approximately 3 blocks to Plaza Grande. Taxes will be minimal, generally around $100 per year, but I do not have an exact figure. The HOA fees are around $80. The building has 23 units. I will see if we have more photos.

    Overpriced worth about 60k

    • Hi Barry,

What we are seeing in Ecuador now is that what a property is worth is what a person is willing to pay for it. And people are willing to pay a lot! The number of apartments for sale in old town Quito is very low, so it is a seller’s market. I have been in the real estate business here in Ecuador for 6 years and I can tell you that I am shocked at the prices some properties are selling for. I don’t like it and that is one of the reasons we are in the process of removing ourselves from this business. Is it a bubble? Time will tell.
